I highly recommend joining roller derby! we have heaps of leagues here in nz, freshmeat intakes will start soon and noone will be able to tell your gear is funky over the smell of their own elbow pads! obviously replacing all your gear is not the most accessible option, but maybe grab a new item that has no funk and try the frend or whatever - you might find they work better at keeping the funk off that getting rid of it once it’s there. The other other thing might be that you’re fighting a losing battle bc your gear already has the funk. certain fabrics hold smells and sweat differently so maybe try switching it up? The other thing might be what your gear is made of. Cos it’s pads n stuff i dont put them through a wash cycle after, but with clothes you could! Soak those bad boys in it overnight then rinse. i currently wash my gear by using frend (its usually in a red tub near the napisan which would work too its just the friend was cheaper).
